Mental Health Resources
California has over 6.2 million public school students and each of their psychological and emotional wellbeing is as important as academic achievement. We are committed to providing extraordinary service toward helping children thrive and fulfill their potential. We support all students’ mental health and encourage our student’s families to reach out whenever they need support.
Where to Start When Asking for Help
We highly encourage anyone who needs help to seek help. Here are helpful tips from Mental Health America to get started:
Start with a text. Opening up about your struggles can be difficult and sometimes it’s easier to start with a text to connect with someone you trust. Share what you’re managing and ask if they have the time and capacity to support you.
Use conversation starters. If you’re unsure what to say, click here for a template on how to start the conversation or support a friend in need.
